The First Ever AI Lawyer In Court
AI Lawyer
If you had told me when I was a young child that there was a possibility of artificial intelligent lawyers, then I might not have believed you, but then again maybe I would’ve since I was a kid. Either way, it seems that will be the case within the next month.
For the first time ever, an AI bot is prepared to represent a person in court. A New York Post said that history will be made next month when “the world’s first robot lawyer” assists a defendant in court as they contest a traffic penalty. The defendant’s smartphone will be used to run the DoNotPay Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot.
A company called DoNotPay is using an AI-powered robot lawyer to help a defendant fight a traffic ticket in court next month. The AI will listen to court arguments and give real-time responses through headphones to the defendant. The company has used AI-generated form letters and chatbots to help people with refunds, lower bills and dispute parking tickets, winning over 2 million customer service disputes and court cases. The use of AI technology in courtrooms is not legal in most states, and only 2 out of 300 cases considered were feasible for a trial of the robot lawyer. Joshua Browder, CEO of DoNotPay, wants to use this technology to give individuals the same tools that large corporations have access to. — Source
